That's Ethan with his sons Tanner and Jackson — the same four-person family crew (with Allen on tree work and construction) that shows up to every project. Ethan grew up in the Gastonia area and now runs the shop out of his home in Lawndale — he started C4 to do landscaping the way he wished other companies did it: show up on time, the same faces every week, finish what you start, leave the property better than you found it.
C4 doesn't run subs. The crew that quotes your project is the crew that builds it. When you call back six months later for a touch-up or a follow-on project, you're talking to the same people who put the mulch down the first time.
About the crewReal projects across Cleveland, Gaston, Lincoln, and Rutherford counties — lawns, mulch beds, land clearing, raised gardens, hardscapes, gun ranges, and food-plot setups. Every photo is our crew, our equipment, our work.

We price per visit based on yard size, complexity (slopes, obstacles, bed edges), and frequency. Most quarter-acre lots run $45-65 per visit on a weekly schedule. Bi-weekly is slightly higher per cut since the grass is taller. We measure on the first visit and lock in a price — no hidden fees, no surprise upcharges.
We do both. One-time cleanups, vacation cuts, sale-prep mows — happy to handle them. Weekly + bi-weekly clients get priority scheduling and a slightly lower per-visit rate, but you don't have to lock into anything to get on the calendar.
Most new clients are on the schedule within 1-2 weeks of the first walkthrough. During peak spring rush (March-May) the wait can stretch to 3 weeks. For full design + install projects, plan 4-8 weeks from quote to start depending on materials.
Yes — $2 million general liability through NC Farm Bureau (double the typical landscape contractor policy). Workers comp on every crew member. Certificate of insurance available on request before any work begins.
Most weekly service has zero deposit — you pay after the work is done. Larger projects (hardscape installs, tree removal, forestry mulching, materials-heavy work) require a deposit so we can lock in the materials and schedule. Every quote spells out the deposit clearly — you'll never be surprised at the door.
Hardwood mulch (the dark or natural-color shredded bark) holds color about 6-9 months and decomposes into the soil. Pine bark nuggets last longer but float in heavy rain. Pine straw is the cheapest and the easiest to refresh — popular for properties with heavy beds. We'll talk through options at the walk-through and pick what fits your beds and budget.
We don't install full irrigation systems — that's a specialized trade. We coordinate with licensed irrigation contractors when a project needs it, and we know who in Cleveland County does it right. Smaller drip and bed-watering setups we can handle in-house.
