C4 Landscaping is a full-service crew based in Lawndale, NC. We handle 13+ trades in-house — no subs, no project-juggling. Below is every service we do, in detail.

We treat every yard like it's our own. Weekly or bi-weekly mowing with sharp blades (we sharpen weekly — dull blades tear grass and brown the tips), edging at every walkway and bed line, string trimming around fences, mailboxes, and trees. Clippings blown off all hard surfaces — driveway, walks, patios — gone before we leave.

Beds get a sharp spade-cut edge, weed-pulled clean down to the soil, pre-emergent if requested, then 2-3 inches of fresh mulch — black hardwood, brown hardwood, pine bark, or pine straw, your call. We do annual color changeouts for clients who want spring/summer/fall rotations, and bed redesign when older landscaping has grown out of scale.

Hardscape that doesn't move starts with a real base — excavated to depth, crushed-stone compacted in lifts, screeded sand, pavers set tight with polymeric joint sand. Softscape is the half most landscapers skip — planting around the new walkway so it doesn't look bolted on, finishing the bed edges so the whole property reads as one design, working drainage in so the patio stays dry. We do both, in the same scope, on the same crew.

Walk the property with Ethan, talk through what you want, get a design sketch back within a week. Plants are sourced from regional NC growers (acclimated to our heat + humidity), trees are guaranteed for one growing season. We do everything from front-yard refreshes to full-property masterplans — including the design work to integrate new beds with existing patios, walkways, and outdoor structures.

Retaining walls solve two problems at once: they stop erosion and they turn a steep slope into usable yard. We build in segmental concrete block (Belgard, Pavestone), natural stone, or pressure-treated 6x6 timbers. Walls under 4 feet are owner-built scope; over that we coordinate with engineers and pull the permit.

Low-voltage LED lighting is the single biggest upgrade you can make to a finished landscape — it turns the yard you only see in daytime into one you can enjoy at night. We design layouts (paths, uplights on trees, accent on architecture), source quality fixtures (no big-box throwaways), and bury all wire properly.

One of our specialty services — building private home shooting ranges on rural property. Ethan's clearing & forestry background plus Jackson's pasture and food-plot work means we can site, clear, grade, and finish a backyard range that's safe, drained, and built right the first time.
We handle the whole job: clearing the lane, planning the backstop layout, building target frames and benches, and laying out the firing line. We work with you on safe setbacks, line-of-fire angles, and downrange containment so the range fits your property and your local rules — and we coordinate with our trusted site-prep subs for any earthwork the project needs.

Ethan's specialty. Years of running heavy equipment — first as a Carolina Cat mechanic, then on the family crew — means C4 takes on the clearing jobs other landscapers won't touch. Raw lots, overgrown pastures, pipeline easements, food-plot prep, building-site prep — handled in-house, no equipment subbed out.
We think through the drainage, the grade, and the future use of the property before the first blade hits dirt. The job that's done isn't just "the brush is gone" — it's "the land is ready for what's next."
We list out every trade we touch — landscaping rarely fits into one neat category. If we're already on your property installing mulch, we're happy to also re-edge beds, prune the hedge, and clean leaves out of the gutters. One crew, one trip, one bill.
Don't see your project? Call or text — there's a good chance we either do it or know who in Cleveland County does it right.
Stop juggling three different lawn services. C4 handles weekly mowing, mulch, patio install, design — same crew, same schedule, same price.
